SHAWN MULLINS

Recently signed to Vanguard Records, Shawn has just released Ninth Ward Pickin Parlor. The single Beautiful Wreck is climbing the Triple A Radio charts. Most of the record was recorded at Orphan Studio by Glenn Matullo.

Lullaby was recorded in January 1998 at Orphan Studio, and was released on Shawn's major label debut Soul's Core. Shawn and Glenn have worked together a long time, from Shawn's indy releases like Big Blue Sky to his major label releases like Soul's Core and Beneath The Velvet Sun. Glenn's history with Shawn dates back to 1993 when he worked on Shawn's Big Blue Sky CD. Next came Eggshells. Eggshells was recorded at Orphan Studio's first location. The studio was very small, one 6X8 booth. But that record has an incredible vibe to it. Next came a live show with friend Mathew Kahler, Jeff's Last Dance VOL. 1. After that, at Orphan Studio's present location, Soul's Core was recorded. After that, Beneath The Velvet Sun was recorded at a rehearsal studio around the corner from the studio. And now, getting back to basics, Shawn has just released, Ninth Ward Pickin Parlor. Most of the record was recorded at Orphan Studio.

Look for Shawn's 2003 project called The Thorns. The Thorns are Shawn Mullins, Mathew Sweet, and Pete Droge. A trio with harmonies and melodies that reminds you of the Beach Boys and Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
